This design is an original design based on the telling of the top of Yggdrassil.  The hawk, Veðrfölnir, sits atop an unnamed Eagle.  The tree is an Ash tree, while the eagle is based on a White-Tailed Eagle.

To move the design from paper to leather the leather is first lightly wetted, then the design is placed over it and traced.  This can be done with any implement, but a pen (or pencil) that can provide enough pressure to transfer and show against the drawn design is easiest.  After the design has been transferred it is then cut using either a swivel knife or an exacto tool.

On this project I used a slightly different method to raise the design than on the greaves.  Due to the much tighter area a much smaller and controlled tool was using, giving the stamped area a smoother look than the greaves had.

The design was then painted in contrasting colors to bring out the Eagle and Veðrfölnir from the Ash tree.

The lames of the shoulder armor were then fully painted as I wanted to experiment with wax retention when fully painted.
