Candy Shield

Designing the Shield
This design was meant to simulate a box of candy of various types. Candy bars and boxes were used for reference, but names were changed to more interesting ones.

Transferring the Design
The design was not able to be moved exactly due to the size drawn vs. the size needed. When placing on the shield things were adjusted, renamed, and added to enhance the larger size. Bold primary colors were largely chosen to make the images pop and stand out.

Finishing the Painting
All shapes were outlined to give the final amount of pop necessary and the field split into half for aesthetic reasons. Care was taken to make sure that colors remained bright and popped from the background with no regard for 3D effects such as shading or shadowing.

Hiding the Lines
After adding the division more candy was painted along the line to make the division less stark and provide hit points that were not push points on the shield.

Completing the Shield
The shield was completed with rainbow paracord and a bright red edging. The wrap points were placed far too closely together, but held well enough for the time it was used.
